Undergraduate Research Assistants (URAs) will be expected to perform tasks such as:
- Assist graduate RAs in running study sessions and recruiting subjects for our studies
- Collect and input data
- Proofread documents
- Sort critical incidents
- Document reproduction
- Perform literature searches, collections and returns
There are appropriate lab facilities in Elliott Hall. Our facilities include computing resources as well as other materials provided to aid you and your need to accomplish your work. My graduate students and I discuss with URAs the projects on which they are working on and why they are significant. We consider our lab group to have both a friendly and professional attitude.
Please note that undergraduate students who wish to become lab URAs must register for PSY 4993 or PSY 5993 for a letter grade. For the registration process itself, please consult the Psychology Department's Undergraduate Advising Office (Elliott Hall S205, email [email protected]).
As part of your learning experience, you will write a 5-page, APA-style paper on a topic related to the lab's research. It is generally recommended you have taken and performed well in: PSY 3801, PSY 3001, PSY 3711, and PSY 5701 to have a foundational knowledge of the concepts applied in this lab setting.
If you are interested in a position as an undergraduate research assistant with my research group, you may contact me at [email protected]
We look forward to hearing from you!
